Qualifications and the new curriculum: key milestones
Reforming the curriculum gives us a chance to think carefully about what qualifications are for, which ones should be available and how they should be designed. We also want to consider how qualifications can support the aims and core purposes of the new curriculum.
To help us answer these important questions we’ll be engaging extensively over coming months, across the education sector and beyond. Our aim is to agree the guiding principles that will shape the future 14-16 qualification offer. We expect to confirm in 2020 what the future offer will look like, so that schools can introduce the new curriculum effectively, and so that any new qualifications are available in plenty of time.
