Change of examination results embargo timesWednesday 26 Feb 2020
JCQ has announced that the embargo times for the release of results to candidates for ELC, FSMQ, GCSE, GCE AS, GCE A-level, Project and Extended Project qualifications are changing from the June 2020 examination series.
The results are embargoed for release to candidates until 08:00 am on:
Thursday 13 August 2020; and
Thursday 20 August 2020
The awarding bodies, in discussions with UCAS, DfE, the qualifications regulators and stakeholders have extended the embargo for the release of results from 06:00 to 08:00 am to ensure that candidates can receive advice and support from centre staff when receiving their results and aligning with the opening of UCAS systems. It will still be possible to release results to candidates electronically at 08:00 am.
UCAS and its Higher Education Institution members will not communicate any confirmation decisions while the results are under the 08:00 embargo.
Electronic results continue to be made available to centres from midnight on Wednesday 12 August 2020 and Wednesday 19 August 2020. All results information must remain entirely confidential and cannot be divulged to, or discussed with other teachers, candidates or parents, educational institutions and local authorities, the press or any other person.
Releasing results to candidates prior to the 08:00 am embargo is considered centre malpractice and the awarding bodies reserve the right to withdraw the special concession of providing early information about results electronically to any centre found to be in breach of these requirements.
The JCQ document Notice to Centres – release of general qualification results, June 2020 examination series has been updated to show the change of the embargo time to 08:00 am.
