Privacy notice - General enquiries

Please note when contacting us that we will retain your contact information and your enquiry on our systems under the legal basis of processing in the public interest and in accordance with our statutory functions under section 46 of the Qualifications Wales Act 2015.

We will retain this information for the purposes of responding to your enquiry, and for information on our communication history with you (or the stakeholder organisation you represent) should you contact us again. 

Your contact details and your enquiry will be retained for the purposes listed and will then be retained and disposed of according to our retention schedule depending on the nature of your enquiry.

Freedom of Information

Please note that as a public body, all written information that we hold (including written enquiries) is subject to Freedom of Information requests.  We will pay regard to the Data Protection Act and before sharing any personal information requested under the Freedom of Information Act.

Your Rights

Subject to some legal exceptions, you have the right to:

  • request a copy of the personal information Qualifications Wales holds about you

  • to have any inaccuracies corrected

  • to have your personal data erased

  • to place a restriction on our processing of your data

  • to object to processing

  • to request your data to be ported (data portability)
