The conference for Teachers and Advisors in Wales

If you are a teacher or an advisor working with students in Wales, there are two events taking place later this month that are not to be missed!

UCAS has organised conferences in Llandudno on 15 May and Swansea on 17 May thanks to the support of Qualifications Wales.

The events are free to attend and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Key themes to be covered at the conferences include:

  • the Welsh Baccalaureate

  • progression routes from apprenticeships and vocational qualifications

  • entry requirements and admissions strategies

  • how to make an application stand out

  • Student Finance Wales.

Qualifications Wales Associate Director Emyr George will host the first plenary sessions at both Venue Cymru in Llandudno and Swansea University Bay Campus, and will introduce an expert line-up of speakers including:

  • Sally Rutherford, Head of Admissions at Cardiff University

  • Mike Nicholson, Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions at Bath University

  • Richard Partington, Senior Tutor at Churchill College, Cambridge University

  • Ben Hughes, Deputy Director Student Recruitment and Marketing at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
